To celebrate the birth of W HONG KONG, SixLee was inivited to showcase his FW13 & SS14 first time on a runway in Hong Kong and commissioned to create a limited edition W Anniversary T-shirt that stylishly portrays what the hotel is - chic and whimsical.
Six Lee, uses his signature clean cuts and sharp lines to create a unique silhouette for the W. Inspired by optical illusions and typical sweater details, the talented designer uses two different kinds of black textiles (shiny and matt) to create a W in the neckline. To further highlight W’s vibrant personality, neon yellow is used for the neckline to make the shirt standout even more.
As for the body, a special fabric – Heavy Weight Europe Imported cotton Jersey is used as the main material. This amazing textile not only adds volume to the shirt, it is also very comfortable to wear.
Six Lee explains the design inspirations behind his masterpiece. “’WORK HARD, PLAY HARD” is what that pops up in my mind when I think of W Hong Kong. It is capable of lots of fun and lots of great services. So having this impression in mind, I created this piece that can be worn casually or formally. And of course, it will not be W if there’s nothing unconventional, and since the hotel’s all about flirting with the senses, I believe this subtle neckline will definitely live up to such statement.”
